GerryAnn Home&Garden Blog

While parking my car in our residence at Alkhobar, Saudi Arabia, I know my ever caring wife Mary Ann is very busy attending to her “Drop-In” personal care & tutorial class.  Under her care from 7:00 am till 5:00 pm are eight children (3 to 6 years old, boys and girls) whose parents are employed, and busy working from Saturday till Thursday (regular working days in Saudi Arabia).

On my way up, I heard the children reciting an inspiring poem entitled “Creation”.  Here’s how it runs:

“God made the earth
And God made the sky
God made the fish, and the birds that fly
Animals, flowers and trees so tall
God made everything great or small
God made all that I can see
God made you and God made me.”

“Mr. Rodriguez, wake up.  Let’s have breakfast before you do your farm exercise.”
Sweetly but authoritatively, my wife woke me up from my sleep.  She handed me a cup of hot jasmine tea and walk me towards the dining table.  While eating with my wife, I gazed around the garden thru the window; it’s a beautiful day!  Thank God I’m still alive with my lovely and ever caring wife, Mary Ann.

Last August 2006, when Ann and I go back to the Philippines for good, we decided to move, live and develop our small farmstead.  The place is ideal for a home & garden blueprint situated in Brgy. Dapdap, Tayabas, Quezon near Mount Banahaw.  Our thoughts run as herein:
A home is a symbol of what we're about, and what we've accomplished.  It's also the place where we bond with our family, the most important people in our lives.  While garden offers us to link with the natural world and the universe.  In the garden, we are in partnership with other living things by growing plants that excites our imagination for a colorful garden.  And as we age our body and mind need to have restful and energizing green spaces for relaxation.”

From March 2007 till now our garden has offered us retreat from the hustle and bustle of modern living.  Several of the fruit bearing seedlings we planted are now giving us the “fruits of our labor.”

Corinthians 9:6 But this I say He which soweth sparingly, shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

Varieties of attractive garden plants are also increasing.  Poultry and livestock continuously breed. The fish ponds that we built are now plentiful of tilapia, catfish and some carps. And we’re now starting to raise pangasius.  Thanks to the poem, we’re truly inspired to live near God’s “Creation.”

If you need fruit bearing seedlings or garden plants (bananas, blue berries, calamansi, dalandan, guavapple, guyabano, lanzones, longan, mangosteen, passion, persimon, poncan, rambutan, santol, star fruit, sweet tamarind, antorium, bromiliads, birds of paradise, camia, fortune sticks, jade, malaysian bamboo, money tree, sampaguita, song of india, etc.) please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you and God bless.
